NEW FEATURES

1. Auto bed-leveling

Click “Move Axis > Leveling” to enter the automatic leveling page. You can choose the “Full Mode”, 63- points (9*7) leveling, or the “Simple Mode”, 9 points (3*3) leveling as required.

E2 Features Enabled in New RaiseTouch Update:

1. Auto Bed-Leveling/Intelligent Leveling
The E2 will automatically determine the flatness of the build surface and adjust the printing parameters accordingly. This increases accuracy by providing a solid foundation for the model.
Bed-leveling can be set to Full Mode (for 63-point leveling), Simple Mode (for 9-point leveling) or Intelligent Leveling (leveling only the surface area used for the model). Users can choose the perfect leveling procedure for each print depending on the requirements of each print job.

Select “Simple Mode” and the machine will automatically flatten at 9 points.

After leveling, the leveling results are shown in the figure below. You can also click “  ” to view the leveling result

Click the “2D” icon to switch to a flat view to view the leveling result.

Click “  ” to enter the Auto-leveling setting page.

2. Intelligent leveling focusing on printing area
With the leveling optimization function on, the printer will automatically level the area of the model before each print.

3. Built-in Offset Calibration guides
Click “Setting > Maintenance > Offset Calibration” to enter the calibration wizard. Be sure to satisfy all three of the following conditions before executing the wizard.

（1）The material of both nozzles is Raise3D Premium PLA.
（2）The nozzle diameter must be 0.4mm (the original nozzle diameter of the machine is 0.4mm).
（3）Clean the heatbed and nozzle.
After confirmation, click “Start” to confirm again that all the above conditions are met.

Click “Next” to enter the sub-item selection page. As shown in the figure:

The wizard is divided into the following five steps, which we strongly recommend that you complete in sequence.

3.1. Z offset of the left nozzle.
The Z-direction offset of the left nozzle is the distance from the nozzle to the build plate when the probe is triggered.
If the distance is too far, the print will not stick to the build plate and the printing shape will be deformed.
Too close to the extruder will lead to too little extrusion, nozzle scraping the floor and other problems.
Click “Next” to start measuring. Clean the nozzle and build plate before measuring.

Click “Next”. Wait for the extruder to move to the specified location.

After waiting for the nozzle to move to the specified position, place the feeler between the nozzle and the build plate according to the instructions of the wizard, and select the lift or drop nozzle until the nozzle just touches the feeler.

If the nozzle is far from the feeler, choose to lower the nozzle downward. If the nozzle and the feeler are too close to insert the feeler, lift the nozzle up.
After adjusting the nozzle position, click “Next” and wait for the machine to print the calibration line. After printing, follow the prompts to select the first wavy line. Click “Next”.

The offset measurement results are shown in the following figure:

 

3.2. Z offset of the right nozzle.
The Z-direction offset value of the right nozzle is measured in the same way as that of the left nozzle. Please follow the instructions to make the measurements.

 

3.3. Bed leveling
Click “Next” to start leveling the heatbed.


The leveling process will take about 3 minutes (for Simple Mode). Please be patient.

The result page of leveling is displayed in 3D, which can be switched by clicking the “2D” button.

 

3.4. Offset in the X/Y direction of the right nozzle
The X/Y offset of the right nozzle refers to the X/Y offset of the right nozzle relative to the left nozzle. Click “Next”.

The printer will automatically calibrate the print of the model. The whole process will take about 10 minutes. Please wait patiently until the print is finished.

After printing, follow the wizard instructions to select a set of lines that are vertically aligned. Click “Next”.

The measurement results are shown in the following figure:

 

3.5. Dual-Color Cube
The fifth step is to verify whether the X/Y offset value of the right nozzle is measured accurately by printing a dual-color cube. Click “Next”.

The dual-color cube will take about 15 minutes to print. Please wait until printing is finished.

After printing, compare the images in the wizard.

 

4. Automatic pause if any door is opened
This feature can be enabled in “Setting > More Setting > Privacy and Security”.
With this feature enabled, the printer pauses the printing task if the top lid or front door is opened during the printing process.

When the door closes, the print task will automatically resume.

Note: This feature is turned off by default.

The newest update to RaiseTouch for the E2 encompasses all its new accessibility features. These features make printing easier than ever. This update includes: Auto Bed-Leveling, Intelligent Leveling, Offset Calibration Guides, and Safety Mode. Read below to see how these features make printing with the E2 more simple, easy, and accurate

E2 Features Enabled in New RaiseTouch Update:

1. Auto Bed-Leveling/Intelligent Leveling

3. Safety Mode
By enabling this feature, the E2 will automatically pause printing whenever either the top lid or front door is opened. Once the door closes the E2 will continue printing right where it left off. This is ideal for protecting users in educational and manufacturing environments.

New ideaMaker Features for E2

The new version of ideaMaker is expanding the connectivity of Raise3D’s ecosystem by optimizing ideaMaker to take full advantage of the features and technology of the E2, while simultaneously improving functionality for the Pro2.

ideaMaker enables the E2 to:

1. Print in Duplicate and Mirror mode
Simple templates within ideaMaker allow printing in Duplicate Mode, which is ideal for increasing efficiency for small-batch manufacturing, or Mirror Mode, which is great for complex geometries and applications like footwear.

2. Print Dual-color and Dual-material


Printing in two colors is great for creating distinguished, creative prints, and is especially useful when creating architectural models, or printing elaborate prototypes.
Printing in dual-material significantly expands applicability of additive manufacturing. Models can be printed with different materials for parts with differing strength and flexibility requirements, or for using support material for prints with complex shapes.

3. Remotely Monitor and Control
Remotely monitoring and controlling prints furthers the flexible reach of additive manufacturing. ideaMaker allows users to check the status of their printers connected to their network, and make the necessary changes from their computers.

New Features

· Slice Settings

1. Added detecting options for Overhang Shells, including Overhang Shells Speed and Overhang Shells Flowrate which are used to control the flowrate and printing speed for the Outer and Inner shells for overhangs.

If you want to modify solid fill settings for overhangs, you can edit the Bottom Surface Layers settings under Solid Fill tab.

2. Added options for Overhang Shells Fan Speed to control the cooling fan speed during printing the shells in the overhangs.

3. Added option for Thin Wall Speed to control the printing speed for Thin Wall.

4. Added more options for First Layer, including: First Layer Shells, First Layer Solid Fill Extrusion Width Percentage, and First Layer Solid Fill Pattern Type, to optimize the result of the First Layer.

5. Added Raft Overrides that allow selecting different options for Raft when Raft enabled.

6. Added option for Second Layer Z Lift which will be enabled with Raft. It will raise the model according to Raft Gap. The model will go back to the original height after the first layer. This feature can raise the model from the second layer to avoid the Raft sticking too tight to a model printed with some materials.

7. Added printing templates for Raise3D E2 printer.

8. Added printing templates for Raise3D Premium ASA Filament.

9. Added option “Move to Park Position” under Cool Down Inactive Extruder.

Note: This option is required to be Disabled for Raise3D E2 printers or other third-party printers which have the Independent Dual Extrusion feature. The nozzles will move to the home position automatically when switching extruders.

10. Added option “Cool Down before Extruder Switch” under Cool Down Inactive Extruder.

Note: This option is unchecked for Raise3D Pro2 series printers because the printers require both extruders to be heated up when switching, otherwise it may damage the hardware.
You can enable this function for Raise3D E2 printers, which have an Independent Dual Extrusion feature, and do not require heating before switching extruders.

 

· User Interface

Added warning when trying to exit ideaMaker in the middle of uploading print files.

 

· Bug Fixes

1. Fixed issue of generating Wipe Tower and Wipe Wall with multiple Setting Groups being created.

2. Fixed issue of generating Brim.

3. Fixed the issue of generating Wipe Tower too far from the model when Multiple has been selected for Wipe Tower Mode.

4. Fixed the issue of generating unnecessary holes on Wipe Tower.

5. Fixed issue that the install package can’t reinstall properly when installation directory has been lost or installation file is missing after ideaMaker has been installed.

6. Fixed the main interface crash issue when running ideaMaker on some Windows 10 computers.

7. Fixed the errors in startup scripts in Linux version.

8. Fixed the issue of generating the adaptive layer height result.
